The Shopping System Our online shopping system uses Java language, which is a browser dependent language. The individual items are added to the shopping cart using Applets (a field allowing to enter quantity and an Add 'to cart' button). The Shopping cart page advances one through the shopping process. There have been some issues with ordering online related to the Microsoft Explorer browser and recent updates of Anti-virus programs. | Problem | Reason | Solution | | 1. Cannot Add products to the shopping cart using the Applets | Browser's settings | Click here | | 2. The shopping cart's Continue with Order button does not work | Pop-up blocking | Click here | | Macintosh users must use Netscape, Safari browsers | Browser's handling of Java | |
1.The Browsers - Microsoft Explorer browser version 6:
The Explorer 6 may have affected your ability to add products to the online store. It may require some adjustment on the browser settings, or in most cases, to download and install the Sun's Java Run Time Environment (JRE).
Please check in Tools / Internet Options / Advanced tab and somewhere in the middle of the options there should be one, or the other, but possibly both: Java (Sun) [x] Use JRE 1.5.... for <applet> (requires restart) JRE stands for Java Runtime Environment and needs to be enabled (box checked).
Microsoft VM (Virtual Machine) [ ] Java console enabled (requires restart) [ ] Java logging enabled [x] JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart) If the Java (Sun) option is not available then Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java needs to be enabled with at least “JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart)” option checked. Java Console enabled as well.
Note: Microsoft is discontinuing support and distribution for its Java Virtual Machine and in order for the browser to utilize Java a Java console from Sun Microsystems needs to be installed. It is not harmful or wasteful for your computer as many web sites utilize Java. The Java console can be downloaded for free from this link. http://www.java.com/en/selectlanguage.jsp http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

2. Pop-up blockers with Microsoft Explorer Pop-up blockers are causing the Continue with Order to sink, but does nothing to advance you to the next step of the ordering process. Solution: Disable the browser's or anti-virus pop-up blockers temporarily while placing the order.
